Homeless Animal Adoption Campaign
I want to:
Educate people about responsible pet ownership, proper pet care, and the unique needs of animals through my “Homeless Animal Adoption Awareness” program.
Encourage people to spay or neuter their pets to help control the overpopulation of animals.
Excite potential pet owners about the joy of adopting a pet and providing a loving home for a homeless animal.
I have had the opportunity to share my program, “Homeless Animal Adoption Awareness”, with children through local classroom visits. Most of the children have interesting animal stories to tell and enjoy learning about animal adoption. I have also volunteered my time at the Southern Pines Animal Shelter in Hattiesburg, Mississippi where the basic care of homeless animals is needed. Also, through PetSmart National Charities, I have been able to introduce PetSmart customers to homeless animals that need loving families.
The fact is, of the 5 million homeless animals that are housed in animal shelters each year, 3-4 million are euthanized. This is over sixty percent of animals brought into shelters. I hope my efforts will help reduce the number of animals euthanized and increase the number of animals that find loving homes.
PetSmart National Charities provides an excellent forum where homeless animals can be showcased. I plan to continue my work with local schools, animal shelters, and PetSmart National Charities to reach the public about “Homeless Animal Adoption Awareness”.
My biggest goal is to assist in finding homes for these unfortunate animals. If you are interested in adopting a homeless animal please contact your local animal shelter!
